Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be enrolled in a full-time bachelor's or master's degree program with at least one semester left to complete all degree requirements after the internship.

Experience in Microsoft Office products.

Duties Description Job Duties

The duties of the Content and Messaging Intern include, but will not be limited to, the following:

Shadow C&O team members and collaborate on communications strategies
Edit and proofread content for conformity to NYSTRS standards adhering to AP style.
Work with NYSTRS departments as needed to write and/or proofread communications materials, presentations and reports.
Research and write for NYSTRS publications.
Leverage data and presenting findings to help hone communication strategies.

Position Summary

The NYSTRS Communications & Outreach (C&O) department is looking for an intern to help with content strategy and messaging. C&O manages the communications strategy for NYSTRS. This intern will help build out C&O’s analytics strategy and storytelling, as well as gain experience in content production, including mass email strategy and research for article content and distribution channels. Standard tasks include research, proofreading, organizing data from web analytics as well as content management support. Stretch assignments will include forming strategy around data analytics.
Work Modality

This position is subject to a hybrid work schedule.
