Minimum Qualifications Appointment method:

List Appointment: Candidates must be reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for 38-918010 or 26-586010.

Transfer: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in a title eligible for transfer via Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. Information regarding transfer eligibility may be available on the Civil Service Career Mobility Office website at http://careermobilityoffice.cs.ny.gov/cmo/.

Please Note that under Civil Service Law, an employee cannot have two consecutive upward 70.1 or 52.6 transfers without an intervening eligible list appointment if such transfers would exceed two salary grades.

Duties Description The New York State Department of Financial Services seeks to build an equitable, transparent, and resilient financial system that benefits individuals and supports business. The Department of Financial Services is seeking candidates for the position of Project Manager 3 in the Portfolio Management Office. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Manages one or more projects within the Portfolio Management Office;
• Coordinates and leads planning sessions for project development and execution;
• Creates and maintains detailed project scope and schedules activities in accordance with department policies and practices;
• Collaborates with internal and external users to complete projects on time and within budget;
• Adheres to enterprise policy, standards, and procedures for DFS’ IT investment portfolio;
• Performs risk analysis and risk mitigation; and
• Performs the full range of supervisory responsibilities.
