Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on a current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

Or

If a viable eligible list does not exist, a provisional appointment may be made in accordance with Civil Service Law. To be considered, candidates must take the next competitive examination (which was held October 26,2024) and be reachable on the resultant eligible list in order to be considered for permanent appointment to the position. Candidates who accept a provisional appointment must show proof that they have taken the completive examination.

Qualifying Experience for Appointment from The Eligible List:
After one year of service in a qualifying title*, successful candidates will be qualified for appointment from the eligible list. If you have received a permanent appointment to a qualifying title* listed and served provisionally in that title immediately preceding your permanent appointment, such provisional service may be counted towards meeting the one-year time in title required for appointment from the eligible list.

Duties Description Provide both Para-professional and clerical support to Assistant Director in Personnel overseeing Regional Administrative Services Offices Statewide.

Duties include but are not limited to:

•Research laws, rules, regulations, and departmental policies as they apply Personnel, Human Resources, and/or administrative issues, questions or concerns.
•Monitor and evaluate data for deficiencies and assist in correcting problems.
•Collect, tabulate, and analyze data.
•Draw conclusions from analyzed data and make appropriate recommendations.
•Create tables, charts, and draft reports to document analyses and procedures.
•Prepare power Point Presentation
•Respond to questions concerning the operation of the unit or program area.
•Write responses to correspondence.
•Coordinate arrangements for meetings, courses, and other gatherings making arranging fortravel, rooms, take attendance, and ensure that appropriate materials and equipment areavailable.
•Assist in the preparation of probation reports and performance evaluations.
•Maintain and manage the maintenance of a variety of personnel office records.

Provide employees and managers with information on and interpretations of agency personnel procedures and policies, the personnel transaction process, attendance rules, employee programs, and/or other aspects of the personnel system.

The chosen candidate must possess strong communication skills and be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. The chosen candidate should have experience using various computer applications, programs, and databases including but not limited to: Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook, Access, OneNote, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, LATS, NYSTEP, NYBEAS, and ELMS.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
