Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Enrolled full-time in a college, university, or graduate program in New York State and have completed a minimum of one (1) year of studies.
Duties Description This internship is in NYSIF’s Investment Department, which oversees around $20 billion across several asset classes. This year, the team seeks high performing and highly motivated candidates interested in the investment field. The internship will give insight into NYSIF's Investment activities, which are implementing several exciting strategies across the portfolio, specifically in the Alternatives, ESG and Sustainable Investing, and Risk teams.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Understanding of Finance, Economics, Risk, Sustainability.
• Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, or the letter grade equivalent.
• Able to work part-time Spring (10-15 hours weekly) and based on performance and availability the opportunity to transition to full-time Summer (20-30 hours per week).

For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
