Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications • One year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include, but are not limited to: Administrative Assistant 1, Business Document Specialist 2, Motor Vehicle Consumer Services Representative, Licensing Examiner 1, Taxpayer Services Representative 1, Program Aide, Payroll Examiner 1; OR
• Four years of customer service experience that required independence in both verbal and written communication responsibilities; OR
• Associates degree or higher and two years of customer service experience that required independence in both verbal and written communication responsibilities.

Duties Description • Provide clerical support for the Small Market division of Underwriting.
• Handle requests and emails that sent to Small Markets inbox.
• Complete tasks for Underwriting including: certificates, loss runs, address and phone number changes in PIP, requests to add a dba or correct a policy name/entity name, changes to principal name, email, phone numbers, broker changes, audit location changes, sending forms (including powerforms), reprints of info pages, audit letters, cancellation requests for out of business or no employees, cancellation diaries for NY Fair policies, desk audits for fair policies, PA8Qs for payroll reports, selective Quotes and Apps for Domestic, maintenance on domestic policies including name changes and rebills, payroll reports for domestics, Quote u-7 searches (OFAC, WCB, NYCIRB and DOS) warning diaries, requests for waiver of subrogation endorsements, and returned mail.
Additional Comments For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.

NY HELPS Program:
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).
For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
