Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of a Master's degree in a related field.
A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in a higher education environment.
Experience with higher education assessment, including accreditation, and experience working with faculty.
Familiarity with best practices and implementing and sustaining assessment programs.
Demonstrated facilitation and/or training experience.
Experience with data collection and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Ph.D. degree in a related field.
Experience with MSCHE assessment.
Duties Description The Director of Assessment, Arts & Sciences will support faculty-led assessment and Program Review for the academic programs in the School of Arts & Sciences. Reporting to the Dean, School of Arts & Sciences, the Director will work directly with Faculty, Department Chairs and Program Directors, and the Dean's Office to ensure continuous improvement of academic programs and alignment with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), SUNY, and Department of Education regulations. This is a full-time, twelve (12) month professional position requiring an on-campus presence.
Responsibilities include:
Support faculty and departments in the design and delivery of all aspects of academic program assessment (development of student learning outcomes, creation of curriculum maps, development of assessment calendars, collection and review of data, implementation of closing the loop activities, and preparation of annual assessment reports). Assist faculty with planning, research, data collection, analysis, and loop-closing related to assessment, outcomes, and student learning improvement.
Assist faculty and departments with preparing and submitting data requests and processing data in support of data-based decision making.
Collaborate with faculty, departments, Curriculum and Planning Committee, and other campus stakeholders on the five-year Program Review process, and assist in gathering data for the Program Review.
Work with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness to ensure that all programs are in alignment with MSCHE, SUNY, Department of Education, and specialized accreditation regulations.
Support the Liberal Education Committee in the assessment of the campus general education program.
Maintain a repository of all School of Arts & Sciences assessment reports and related materials. Compile and regularly disseminate results of assessment projects.
Maintain up-to-date information regarding assessment practices and compliance and share that information with stakeholders in the School of Arts & Sciences.
Attend regular professional development activities.
Make recommendations to the Dean regarding assessment and data management processes.
Engage in the development and operationalization of the campus strategic plan in collaboration with OIE and other stakeholders.
Prepare and deliver regular professional development for faculty and staff on assessment in collaboration with campus stakeholders.
Support the assessment of co-curricular programming, including programming conducted by the Centers and Institutes under the aegis of the School of Arts & Sciences.
Work with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness to manage internal and external reporting for the School of Arts & Sciences.
Collaborate with faculty to create and maintain an assessment handbook for the School of Arts & Sciences.
Provide support to accredited programs in the School of Arts & Sciences in annual reporting and reaccreditation processes.

Demonstrated skill or experience collaborating and working effectively with college faculty.
