Job Specifics

Duties Description The incumbent will serve as an OHIP Supervising Recruitment Liaison to the Department’s Human Resource Management Group (HRMG), assisting with the development of policy, strategy, and goals as it relates to personnel and other human resource related topics. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Supervision and Staff Development, Submitting Recruitments Requests in HRMG's Request to Fill Tracking System, Recruitment Project Management, providing guidance and direction to OHIP Division Hiring Managers and Employee Support staff, maintaining Standard Operating Procedures, Tracking, Monitoring, and Analyzing multiple Personnel databases and organizational charts, Bi-weekly Division reporting, and special Human Resource related projects.

Minimum Qualifications Current New York State Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator 1, Grade 23.

OR: New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator 1, Grade 23, under Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Human Resources related topics and Microsoft Office Suite, Supervision and training experience, commitment to providing exceptional customer service, strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to analyze and problem solve, ability to work with various stakeholders inside and outside of the office, willingness to take initiative, resourcefulness and ability to work successfully in a team environment.

Additional Comments For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
