Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:

Under the direction of the Unemployment Insurance Accounts Supervisor, the Unemployment Insurance Accounts Assistant Supervisor analyzes operations and production reports; makes recommendations for procedural improvements; coordinates the work of the Section with other sections within the UI Division; schedules and assigns staff to meet workload fluctuations and operating deadlines; implements training programs; instructs subordinate supervisory staff; personally reviews sensitive cases in which an employer's liability is disputed, the calculation is complex, and the resolution is without precedent; reviews and authorizes employer refunds that have a high monetary value; and leads long term technology modernization efforts, including development, testing and implementation, in coordination with technology partners.

Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Reassignment Qualifications:
Current Department of Labor employees only, with at least one year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service in an Unemployment Insurance Accounts Assistant Supervisor. If you have less than one year, you must be reachable on the current Unemployment Insurance Accounts Assistant Supervisor eligible list for this location, if one exists.

52.7 Non-Competitive Promotion (NCP) Qualifications:
To be eligible for NCP, candidates must be in the Department of Labor promotion field and have one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55 b/c service as a Senior Unemployment Insurance Accounts Examiner. If 3 or fewer qualified Department of Labor Senior Unemployment Insurance Accounts Examiners respond to this posting, Civil Service may approve the permanent appointment of one of the qualified Senior Unemployment Insurance Accounts Examiners without further examination.

Provisional Qualifications: DOL EMPLOYEES ONLY
You must be a qualified employee of New York State Department of Labor and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Senior Unemployment Insurance Accounts Examiner. The appointed candidate would have to take, pass and be reachable on the next holding of the examination to be appointed permanently.

Additionally, in accordance with Civil Service Law, provisional service immediately prior to a permanent appointment to this title is now credited towards the completion of probation upon permanent appointment.

70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55b/c service as an:

• Senior Unemployment Insurance Reviewing Examiner – SG – 20

*Consecutive transfers cannot result in advancement of more than two salary grades.
