Job Specifics

Duties Description Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Assist with the planning and implementation of diversity and recruitment goals
•Participate in College Career Fairs in Western NY
•Organize and attend regional high school outreach sessions in Western NY
•Assist with planning high school, college, university, and community career fair visits
•Assist with researching and developing community partnerships
•Host and plan informational sessions to outreach audiences
•Source new avenues to promote NYSIF
•Research areas of collaboration and support within NY Civil Service and NY DOL
•Support recruitment team with internship program development
•Assist recruitment team with internship screening
•Post job opportunities to various job boards such as: Handshake, 12twenty, Symplicity
•Collect and organize data associated with recruitment and retention
•Assist with career fair procurement process for giveaway items
•Assist with requisition process for career fair purchases
•Monitor Recruit, HR Executive, and NYSIF Career Fairs Mailboxes

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

•Six (6) years of the experience* in equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, or human rights. Qualifying experience includes working with organizations concerned with equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, civil rights, minority business development, or similar programs; or in recruiting, training, and upgrading the educational and job qualifications of protected class members.

*Substitutions: associate’s degree may substitute for two (2) years of non-supervisory experience; bachelor’s degree for four (4) years; and J.D. or master’s degree for five (5) years.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in one or more of the following: College and University recruitment, career services, community outreach, public speaking, training, or event planning.

Additional Comments For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
