Minimum Qualifications This is a transfer opportunity for a current NYS employee who has permanent status as an Aging Services Program Coordinator 2.

Duties Description The Aging Services Program Coordinator 2 (ASPC 2) serves as the unit manager within the Reporting and Data Unit in the Division of Aging Network Operations. Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, Division of Aging Network Operations, the ASPC 2 plays the lead role in the creation and maintenance of systems to meet the data collection, processing, analysis and reporting needs of the NYS Office for the Aging (NYSOFA). The ASPC 2 also oversees many of the office’s programmatic research efforts.
Some of the Aging Services Program Coordinator 2’s duties are to oversee the design and implementation of data systems, including the development of guidelines, standards and regulations; work with other NYSOFA operational units to develop and implement local service program monitoring tools; manage the provision of technical assistance and training for data users at NYSOFA and in the 59 Area Agencies on Aging; prepare reports to be used widely; make oral presentations; and supervise subordinate staff.
Specific Duties: (illustrative only)
• Provide direct supervision of staff. Conduct periodic staff meetings as well as individual staff meetings to review all staff assignments and completion of tasks; carry out recruitment activities for unit positions.
• Serve as the office’s primary liaison with the United States Administration on Community Living (ACL) as well as other federal entities for the preparation, analysis and submission of data and reports and working with ACL and other federal entities on discussion and resolution of issues with said data and reports.
• Oversee staff conducting program research with an emphasis on data including demographics and other data that can be predictive of coming trends in services needed by older New Yorkers. Coordinate Unit efforts with the research efforts of other NYSOFA units.
• Oversee and/or participate in the analysis of new and existing laws, regulations or rules that may pertain to data collection and reporting.
