Job Specifics

Duties Description • Perform administrative activities such as maintaining filing systems, organizing documents, and processing paperwork.
• Provide assistance to Office of Legal Affairs staff, including handling internal and external inquiries and requests via phone, e-mail, and written correspondence.
• Complete projects involving independent preparation of written materials and reports and analysis of information.
• Prepare routine correspondence; collect and analyze data; assist in the preparation, review, and evaluation of a variety of reports and records.
• Order, manage, and maintain law library materials including the preparation and completion of purchase orders.
• Ensure timely compliance with Vehicle Damage Recovery program requirements, including obtaining statements, gathering information and documents, and the transmission of required materials to the Office of General Services.
• Use and maintain databases for research and correspondence.
• Assist in the administration of the Department’s FOIL and Small Claims programs.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications In order to be considered for appointment, candidates must be reachable from the appropriate Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
