Job Specifics

Duties Description The Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 4 (DDPS4) directs the design, support and coordination of multiple community-based services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This DDPS4 has administrative responsibilities over Taconic district’s Area 1 which consists of 4 teams primarily across Columbia, Greene, Ulster and Northern Dutchess counties. The Area 1 DDPS4 will oversee 19 residences and 3 programs including Ulster Day Hab, 607 Pre-Voc and Red Hook Day Hab. The incumbent is a key collaborative partner with the support departments/divisions and works closely with the other DDPS4s and the Staffing Department in the district to optimize service delivery and support the workforce in achieving the agency's mission. The DDPS4 reports to Taconic’s Deputy Director.
Duties include but are not limited to:
•Ensures person-centered supports are delivered in a safe manner in the residences and program sites within the Area1 catchment area, adhere to existing regulations, policies, and standards of practice.
•Oversees OT utilization and implements various approaches to reduce overtime across their area,
•Ensures incidents are reported as required and protections are implemented as appropriate,
•Responds to surveys in a comprehensive and systemic manner to improve services,
•Oversees the utilization of the ATF program per policy,
•Ensures Medicaid billing requirements are being adhered to such that voids are minimized, and
•Responsibly manages residential vacancies ensuring individuals in priority need of services are screened for existingand anticipated vacancies and that the placement process in and the flow out to less restrictive settings proceed actively.
•Review and utilize CO Dashboards and other tools in support of data-driven and solution-focused leadership strategiesto effectively use limited resources and to target vulnerabilities to improve service delivery and support the employeesin Area 1.
• Responsible for monitoring training compliance and for implementing strategies to advance staff training goals.
• Tasked with carrying out the initiatives of the agency and region in areas of diversity, equity and inclusion in practice and policy.
• Is a member of the Steering Committee and participates in Divisional meetings, Board of Visitor meetings, as well as other local and state-wide management meetings and committees/workgroups.
• Travel to multiple counties is required.
• The DDPS4 has AOD responsibilities on a rotating basis and is tasked with conducting regular site visits within their coverage area.

Minimum Qualifications Must currently be a permanent Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 4 and interested in transfer.

OR

Must be active and reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 4.

OR

One year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service in a salary grade 27 or higher and eligible for 70.1 transfer as determined by the Department of Civil Service.

Additional Comments • Please note that starting salary for this title reflects the Mid-Hudson adjustment. Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for Grade 63 ($115,283) and Mid-Hudson adjustment ($2,000). Mid-Hudson adjustment is added to the job rate ($145,682).
