Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 1 (Programming), SG-14, OR in a position at the SG-12 level or above that is deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades.

Candidates eligible for consideration under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55b/c of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. Please provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.

Duties Description As part of the Business Solutions Group, the Information Technology Specialist 1 (Programming) will support the Human Services Cluster in the Unemployment Insurance Claimant Benefits application development area.

Duties include, but will not be limited to:

• Develop and monitor program code changes.
• Gather facts regarding current and proposed systems.
• Provide information about such systems to project teams and higher level management.
• Participate in technical aspects of UI projects and in completing program requests.
• Provide support for production applications.
• Track user service requests and incidents.

Additional Comments This is an Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) position within the Human Services Cluster in the Unemployment Insurance Claimant Benefits application development area at Building 12 at the State Office Campus, Albany. Some positions may require fingerprinting. Filling this position is contingent upon DOB approval.
