Job Specifics
Duties Description The duties of this position include, but are not limited to the
following:
• Answer incoming calls from claimants and providers and communicate with other OVS Units for information, if necessary.
• Monitor Administrative Services Unit voicemail and initiate work to be performed, whether handled within the Administrative Services Unit or transferring to another Unit within OVS.
• Track all incoming calls and voicemails to ensure completion;
• Document information and completed tasks in the OVS claims management system;
• Assist claimants and providers with various issues including looking up payments and check information, and adding providers in the OVS claim management system;
• Create vouchers in the Statewide Finance System and process transactions to stop and/or reissue payments.
• Initiate forgery claims through Treasury to ensure claimants and providers receive compensation.
• Process Emergency Award payments via procurement card, handwritten check, or ACH (Automatic Clearing House);
• Monitor shared mailbox and work with fellow Administrative Services Unit staff to complete tasks; and
• Other tasks as assigned to assist with the daily operations of the Administrative Services Unit.
Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title, or one year of permanent competitive service in a title allocated to a SG-7 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law. Non-Competitive Promotion: A permanent appointment pursuant to Section 52.7 of Civil Service Law may be possible if there are three or fewer current OVS employees meeting the qualifications below that are interested in this position:
One year of permanent competitive or 55B/C service in an office assistant, clerical, or keyboarding title allocated to SG-6 or higher.
