Job Specifics
Duties Description The Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is looking for an innovative Project Coordinator to work with the agency’s Capital Bureau.
• Review and update existing OPRHP construction cost estimating procedures, forms and templates.
• Provide construction cost estimating training sessions to Capital staff, on topics such as general conditions versus general requirements costs, wage rates, contingencies, establishing field order allowances, cash allowances and specific allowances.
• Develop project manager checklists for reviewing construction cost estimates prepared by consultants.
• Review and help manage updates to the OPRHP front end contract documents.
• Other duties as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications This position will be filled by temporary appointment, without examination, via Section 64.3 of Civil Service Law.
To be eligible for this position, you must meet one of the following conditions:
Nine (9) years of professional experience that includes preparing/reviewing construction cost estimating, developing and implementing processes, and developing and providing training. Two years of this experience must be at a supervisory level.
OR
An Associate’s Degree and seven (7) years of the required experience as described above. Two years of this experience must be at a supervisory level.
OR
A Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years of the required experience as described above. Two years of this experience must be at a supervisory level.
OR
A J.D. or Master’s Degree and four (4) years of the required experience as described above. Two years of this experience must be at a supervisory level.
OR
A Ph.D. and three (3) years of the required experience as described above. Two years of this experience must be at a supervisory level.

Additional Comments This will be a temporary appointment.
The salary range advertised for this position is pro-rated based on the part-time, 18.75 hours schedule. Based on operational need, this position may increase to full-time (37.5 hours per week). If the position increases to full-time (37.5 hours per week), the approved full-time annual salary will increase to $122,000.
