Job Specifics

Duties Description • Shares duties with one other cleaner, covering a wide range of buildings including maintenance areas, toll utility buildings, and the back up operations center.
• Assembles cleaning carts according to assigned tasks; prepares, mixes, and dilutes cleaning solutions following manufacturer directions.
• Responsible for collecting and emptying trash and recycling in accordance with cleaning schedules.
• Cleans and removes hazardous or misplaced items, waste, and spills, and disposes of or transports such materials to appropriate receptacles.
• Washes floors, corridors, stairwells, walls, partitions, and windows using mops, detergents, brushes, and other cleaning tools.
• Vacuuming, stripping, and waxing floors; shampoos carpets using manual or mechanical equipment.
• Scrubs and cleans showers and all restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and drains.
• Replaces light bulbs and dusts or washes light fixtures and high places, such as ceilings, using ladders and appropriate equipment.
• Monitors cleaning supplies and equipment and notify supervisor of supply levels, equipment malfunctions, or maintenance issues observed during cleaning.
• May perform light weeding and planting along the outside of buildings and around the Albany Division complex.

Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience requirements for this class. Cleaners must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

ADDITIONAL PAY INFORMATION:
The salary range for this position includes all applicable annual components of pay which are:
Base Pay Range from Hiring Rate $16.39 up to Job Rate $23.65.
Recruitment & Retention Pay: $3.37.
