Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Either 1) Reachable on the Civil Service eligible list (if you are on the eligible list for this title you will automatically be canvassed for this position if your score is reachable for potential employment); OR
2) Eligible for reassignment by virtue of having permanent competitive service as Information Technology Specialist OR 3) Eligible for transfer under the provisions of Section 70.1, 52.6 or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law by virtue of having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title.
Duties Description The job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Works directly with ITSM supervisor and process owners and stakeholders to translate business requests into workflows and documentation
- Load, manipulate and maintain data between ITSM software and other systems
- Performs System and integration testing with test/live data with IS Support teams
- Configuration, Customization and Maintenance of the ITSM system
- Uses scripting tools and ITSM functionality, create script to automate routine tasks being done in ITSM software
- Receives specifications from the IT department and delivers a product/release that meets the needs presented. Creates requirements definitions and technical specifications documentation
- Maintains and support ITSM operational functions
- Monitor health, usage and overall compliance of the application
Additional Comments Detailed knowledge of the following software: Windows 7, Microsoft Office (including Outlook), Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio
- Knowledge of any of the following: ServiceNow, BMC, RemedyForce or Cherwell ITSM software
- Ability to: read and understand technical literature; understand complex oral and written instructions; plan, coordinate, and direct; conduct system modeling and systems analysis sessions; implementation of application programs and systems; conduct post-implementation reviews and problem resolution; maintain application programs and systems; effectively communicate technical information both orally and in writing; apply problem-solving techniques; prepare and execute test plans; and to oversee multiple assigned projects
- Experience managing assigned projects and utilizing project management techniques. This may include interaction with external resources
- General understanding of Networking concepts and terminology
- Previous experience with relational databases such as MS SQL Server and/or Oracle
- Working knowledge of Web Technologies (XML, HTML, JAVA Script, AJAX, CSS, HTTP/S, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP and Single Sign-On (SSO) Integration
- Working knowledge of cloud concepts and architecture, Knowledge in ITIL v3 standards
- Excellent organizational skills
