Job Specifics

Duties Description An intern in the Schenectady Career Center would be part of the NYS DOL staff team operating within the center and would greet customers, assist with customer needs, triage and provide technical assistance to customers needing support with navigating NYS DOL Online platforms and benefit program application processes. Intern would provide technical assistance with navigating Labor Online Services and IDme. Intern would also assist customers in a resource room setting by helping them create resumes and complete Online job applications. Intern would also assist customers using VR and VCC. As time allows candidate may also be tasked with support quality reviews. Candidates would gain knowledge on all of NYSDOLs programs and services, the importance of a skills-based resume, quality cover letter, where to find job leads, customer service, time management, data entry and quality assurance skills. Candidate may also make meaningful connections with workforce partners and local businesses in their role.

Minimum Qualifications • Minimum 30 credit hours (EQ 1 Year of University) completed, verified by transcript
• Current, good academic standing (Minimum 2.0 GPA)
• Continuing (under/grad) academics during the upcoming Spring 2026 semester.

Preferred Skill: Customer relations, technical abilities, Microsoft Word familiarity
