Job Specifics
Duties Description The OA3 will maintain and track performance evaluations. Set up and track required trainings and health and safety trainings. Assist the IRC with on and off boarding of employees. Request and return employee identification along with entering the information in the card reader system for the regional headquarters. Assist with regional inventory, processing of hiring packages for seasonal and permanent employees, orientation presentations and OTETA testing notifications. Process and track accident reports.
They will supervise Support Staff within Region 9. They will maintain telecommuting schedules, approved leave requests, prepare performance programs, annual/bi-annual evaluations of the performance programs and assign duties to the support staff as needed. They will train new staff in office procedures and train current staff in updated or new procedures. They will assist in the hiring of new support staff, including reviewing resumes, setting up interviews, assisting with interviews and preparing hiring packages.
They will assist the Administrative Specialist 1 with managing the Regional Administration budget and will learn all fiscal policies and procedures.
They will be assigned other duties as needed by the Region.
Minimum Qualifications Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC
or
Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent
competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer
eligible section on a permanent competitive basis.
or
Transfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service at
Salary Grade 12 or higher and:
Eligible for transfer under Section 70.1: Permanent competitive
service as an Office Assistant 3, Office Assistant 3 (Calculations),
Accountant Aide, Program Aide, Business Document Specialist 3,
Data Processing Clerk 3, Energy Assistance Review Supervisor,
Legal Assistant, Pathology Office Assistant 2, Payroll Examiner 3,
Office Assistant 3 (Human Resources), Secretary 2. Also any
language parenthetic for the above titles. Additional titles which
qualify can be found on the Department of Civil Service website,
search "GOT-IT."
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Telecommuting may be available, will be discussed at interview.
