Job Specifics

Duties Description Under the general supervision of the Chief of Staff, the Assistant Director for Special Projects will develop, manage, and execute projects at the direction of the Chief of Staff and Executive Director. This position requires the candidate to work independently and as part of a team, possess sound judgment and a keen ability to interpret complex policy and practices, strong research skills to support the development of best practices, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities at one time.

Duties include, but may not be limited to:
• Develop and implement domestic and gender-based violence prevention programs in various state agencies and community organizations.
• Provide technical assistance to organizations administering domestic and gender-based violence prevention programs.
• Design, develop, and update training curricula.
• Conduct training.
• Prepare and review reports and program evaluations.
• Prepare grant proposals.
• Manage grant contracts with community groups
• Perform the full range of supervisory duties such as performance evaluations and time and attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Seven years of experience* in the provision of domestic or gender-based violence prevention services; the provision of human services, training and education, government, social justice or gender-based advocacy services; or public policy research and development

OR

One year of permanent service as a Gender Violence Prevention Specialist 1.

*Substitutions: A bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of specialized experience; a master’s degree may substitute for five years of specialized experience; or a Ph.D. may substitute for six years of specialized experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Research experience.
• Experience with Tableau.
• Experience in data analytics and research including experience with software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, R, and survey tools such as Alchemer or Microsoft Forms.
• Experience in upper-level management and executive offices.
• Project management.
• Experience in evaluation methods.
• Staff management.

NOTE: IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
