Job Specifics

Duties Description Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC), an Office of Mental Health Joint Commission Accredited hospital is recruiting a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for their Community Residence. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.

The LPN with CDPCs Community Residence with provide companionate care and patient-centered and recovery-focused mental health services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, including:
• Performing oversight of medical needs
• Coordinating care with psychiatric and medical providers
• Ordering medication
• Administering medication and teaching medication independence skills

Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Licensed Practical Nurse if they have:
• License and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State; or
• Limited Permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State; or
• Application on file for a Limited Permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State.
OR
Candidates within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
