Job Specifics

Duties Description As the Associate Administrative Analyst with the Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board (UIAB), the incumbent would perform the following duties, not limited to:

Under general direction of the UIAB Manager, supervise two or more professional level staff, as well as support administrative staff, to perform advanced analysis of organization’s calendaring initiatives focusing on timeliness and inventory efficiency and throughout, impacting program operations and core mission.

Plan and organize projects assigned for review and study.

Test new or updated technology ensures its functionality, quality, and reliability by identifying and reporting defects before it is released for use.

Review subordinate work to ensure compliance with schedules and project objectives, and for accuracy, completeness and soundness of recommendations.

Provide technical guidance and direction to staff and suggest corrective measures.

Train employees in administrative procedures, techniques, and methods, including internal controls, and update staff on changes to applicable laws, rules and regulations affecting program operations that require updates to administrative procedures.

Supervise the development and develop work plans considering the objectives and the problems to be solved.

Serve as the UIAB point of contact for the Business Systems Analysts team, document the current stakeholders, system and business processes, business flows, inputs and outputs for the functional business area to address the problems identified within the UIAB Admin Appeals team.

Perform duties in support of agency performance improvement and organizational change initiatives such as planning and facilitating process improvement initiatives.

Supervise and cultivate the skills of the lead for the development of the updated statewide administrative training program project and updated employee traineeship and probation program project. Oversee the development of KPIs to track skills and quality controls on work throughout.

Minimum Qualifications As this position requires travel, the appointee must have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State and have a motor vehicle or otherwise demonstrate their capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.

Reassignment Qualifications:
Current Department of Labor employees only, with at least one year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service in a/an Associate Administrative Analyst; if you have less than one year, you must be reachable on the current eligible list for this location, if one exists.

52.6 Transfer Qualifications:
One year of permanent or contingent-permanent as a Grade 21 or higher determined to be administrative by Civil Service.

70.1 Transfer Qualifications:
One year of permanent or contingent-permanent as a Grade 21 or higher determined to be similar by Civil Service.

Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.

Additional Comments Position specific job duties may include occasional altered work schedule or job assignments which require availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and/or out-stationed assignments.

Additional location pay is available for the following counties: Bronx, Kings, Nassau, NYC-Manhattan, Queens, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk, and Westchester, Dutchess, Orange, and Putnam.
