Job Specifics
Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill a Program Aide, Grade 13, position in the Office of Financial Management, Consolidated Business Office. The Consolidated Business Office (CBO) is responsible for consolidated cash management, vouchering, and payroll services for OMH Central Office and 24 OMH psychiatric facilities. The incumbent of this position will support the Bulkload Processing Unit of the Consolidated Business Office.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Review, approve, and monitor transactions in SFS and/or Bulkload system.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures and information placed on the CBO website.
- Assist with the training of staff. Identifying trends to determine training areas needing improvement.
- Collect, monitor, analyze/evaluate statistics and data for deficiencies/improvements opportunities and provide assistance/direction to correct problems/improve processes.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with administrative programmatic requirements for OMH Facilities/Central Office.
- Serve as a liaison between control agencies and Program areas.
- Prepare various spreadsheets, reports, forms, and emails utilizing various software programs including Adobe Pro, Excel, Word, Outlook, and others.
- May supervise and monitor staff performance to ensure assignments are completed to the best of their abilities. Ensure staff adhere to time and attendance guidelines.
- Miscellaneous assignments/duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be employed by New York State to be eligible to apply for this position.
Candidates must have permanent status as a Program Aide (formerly Agency Program Aide/Administrative Aide), Grade 13, and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
