Job Specifics
Duties Description Under the direction of the Medicaid Operations Unit lead, perform data analytics including regular and ad-hoc reporting related to public health insurance programs such as Medicaid, Essential Plan, Child Health Plus, maternal and child health, telehealth, and transportation services. Coordinating with Medicaid Operations Unit lead to collect program requirements, translate requirements to technical documentation, and compile methodology/code for reporting requirements.
Assessing Medicaid data structures and how they can be used to produce advanced analytics; researching new data sources and analytical tools and recommending solutions.
Produces business intelligence solutions by querying data repositories and generating periodic reports; devises methods for identifying data patterns and trends in data sources; assesses data structures and how they can be used to produce desired reports; conducts or coordinates tests to ensure that solutions are consistent with defined needs; tests, validates, and reformulates models to ensure accurate prediction of outcomes of interest; drafts new functions or applications in programming languages to conduct analyses; creates written reports and effectively communicates/presents results; and may supervise lower level staff.
Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: seven years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools.
*Substitution: An associate’s degree may substitute for two years of general experience; or a bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of general experience. A master’s degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, may substitute for one year of general experience; or a Ph.D. in these fields may substitute for two years of general experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Insurance, Medicaid preferred, 1 year of SQL experience working with large datasets preferred, 2 years of supervising experience
