Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications 70.1 Transfers:
One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Disaster Preparedness Program Representative 1, SG-14.

Duties Description The incumbent is responsible for coordinating FEMA grants for Public Assistance with eligible applicants. This includes:

• Coordinating grant applicant’s documentation for completeness, ensuring all required submission time lines are met, and forwarding documentation to FEMA with State recommendations for action.
• Independently reviews requests and prepares letters for transmittal based on the specific situation.
• Works directly with applicants regarding reporting requirements, grant time extensions, cost over runs, changes to projects and appeals of any FEMA decisions regarding the eligibility of a project.
• Track multiple projects from start through completion and final payment.
• Provides written and verbal status reports when requested.
• Provides logistical support to Recovery Section activities by assisting in briefings, and the preparation and collation of printed materials.
• Participates in training activities to inform and educate potential applicants on the Public Assistance process.
• Works with FEMA to coordinate documentation requirements for disaster reimbursements
• Reviews applicant documentation for completeness, requests applicants to submit additional information if needed after review. Forwards documentation to FEMA with State recommendation for action.
• Coordinates applicant payments with NYSOEM Finance Section.
• Support emergency operations during times of emergency from the State Emergency Operations Center, field offices, and County and local Emergency Operations Centers.
