Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 3 (Programming), G-23, OR in a position at the G-21 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Strong working knowledge of server architectures
• Knowledge of Siebel CRM is desirable
Duties Description Reporting directly to an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG- 25, within the Disabilities & Aging Cluster, the incumbent will assist in supporting the technology initiatives of the agencies by providing technical expertise and business solutions in supporting CRM application and support initiatives.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Work with agency end users to analyze computing problems and provide appropriate technical solutions using products with the Disabilities & Aging Cluster’s technical standards.
• Provide administrative and application support for the Justice Center Vulnerable Persons System Register, which is a Siebel CRM application. Tasks would include, but not be limited to, provisioning users to access the system, troubleshooting production issues, identify performance bottlenecks and resolving defects.
• Identify, analyze and resolve data and system issues. Responsibilities might include replicating user-reported defects in the development environment, collaborating with development staff to finalize system changes.
• Coordinate application migrations to Windows Production platforms, contacting the project leads of other groups that might be affected by the migration, testing and comparing the servers post-migration, and verifying functionality.
• Develop and/or assist with the configuration of the Siebel application enhancements. Analyze user requirements and develop and document technical design. Develop and implement functional requirements using appropriate design techniques in Siebel Open UI.
• Participate in functional, performance, regression and user acceptance testing; document anomalies and issues in HP Quality Center and communicate them with the team effectively.
• Participate in meetings to finalize requirements and communicate effectively.
• Prepare and/or update written documentation such as; business and functional requirements, technical specs, test plans, systems architecture, use cases, flow charts, user manuals, etc., as required.
• Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with the user community, co-workers and management to effectively provide problem resolution services
