Job Specifics

Duties Description The Program Aide will provide direct support to a Senior Accountant with processing all invoices received by the Agency through the preparation, processing and approval of accounts payable vouchers. These documents must be processed timely in order to comply with State Finance Law and avoid interest for late payments. This position will also act as a liaison to the Business Services Center (BSC). The BSC is responsible for processing vendor invoices, securing approvals and processing payments, and the Program Aide will be relied upon to assist the BSC to ensure prompt payment of vendor invoices. The incumbent will also assist the Senior Accountant in preparation of data required for weekly and monthly management reports; analyze reports received by external agencies or departments and provide feedback on such reports.

The Program Aide will audit and approve medical invoices to pay at the Medicaid rate and approve monthly adoption subsidy payments. This position will aid in generating and monitoring various SFS reports including but not limited to: stale payments, eSettlement P2P and match exceptions to ensure timely and efficient payments.

Perform paraprofessional duties and provide program and technical assistance for one or more professional or technical positions. Duties may include: preparing routine correspondence, collecting and analyzing data, assisting in the preparation, reviewing and evaluation of a variety of reports and records, making routine determinations of compliance with agency rules and regulations, and training and supervising subordinate staff.

Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer.
This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.

Additional Comments Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision and strong written and verbal communications skills preferred.

Background Investigation Requirements:

2) All prospective employees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees will be required to pay any necessary fees.

3) For Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY) prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable.
