Job Specifics

Duties Description The Health Program Administrator 1 (HPA1) will serve as the Bureau of Vaccine Program's Provider Data and Recertification lead for the Vaccines for Children and Vaccines for Adults programs. Duties include oversight of the annual provider recertification process for enrolled medical and public provider offices; drafting and review of procedures and job aids for staff and providers; creation of web-based surveys; providing technical assistance to staff responding to providers via phone and email. This position’s duties also include daily use of large web-based information technology systems and databases, and supervision of vaccine program staff.

Minimum Qualifications Current NYS Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 1, G23 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above a G21 and deemed eligible for transfer to Health Program Administrator 1, G23 under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have program management experience and excellent communication and writing skills with the ability to prioritize, coordinate and complete multiple assignments. Skills, training, and/or experience designing and implementing process improvement in a large public health program. Supervisory experience. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of vaccines. Proficiency using Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams and Forms.
