Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Must be licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker and have one year post-licensure professional social work experience. Licensure and current registration by NYS as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker may be substituted for the licensure and current registration by NYS as a Licensed Master Social Worker AND the one year of post-licensure professinoal social work.

Duties Description Assess individual needs, strengths, limitations, and program needs. Provide individual group therapy for 16-17 year old inmates. Record and document program participation in progress notes. Determine the individual need for linkage and referral services. Serve as a resource to other team members regarding social adjustment, discharge service needs and the effective utilization of community services for sex offenders. Educate individual about the nature of the disorder/illness and available resources and how to access them. Direct and oversee the therapeutic interventions of individuals assigned to the treatment team.
