Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be immediately reachable on the eligible list for the title, eligible for lateral transfer, or eligible for transfer per the New York State Civil Service Law.

Candidates should have experience working with the Statewide Financial System (SFS), Microsoft Excel and Word with constant attention to detail. In addition, candidates should possess strong organizational skills, and be able to work both independently and in a team based environment and be able to prioritize multiple assignments.

Duties Description This position is in the Accounts Payable and Travel Unit of the NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal’s (DHCR) Office of Financial Administration. Accounts Payable duties will include checking for the accuracy and completeness of invoices against associated purchase orders. This involves ensuring that goods and services have been received prior to utilizing the SFS to transmit payment requests to the Business Services Center (BSC) for processing and/or to the Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) for audit and approval.

Travel Unit duties will include auditing and approving/denying all DHCR expense reports and Housing Trust Fund Corporation (HTFC) travel vouchers to ensure compliance with DHCR/HTFC/BSC/OSC guidelines and policies. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the SFS travel system, including updating account coding and supervisor designations.
Requisitions, Purchase Orders and Payments in the SFS system for transmission to the Business Services Center (BSC), State Attorney General's Office and/or OSC for audit and approval.
