Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Either: 1) Reachable on a Civil Service eligible list (if you are on the eligible list for this title you will automatically be canvassed for this position if your score is reachable for potential employment); OR 2) Eligible for reassignment by virtue of having a permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 4; OR 3) Eligible for transfer under the provisions of Section 70.1, 70.4 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description The incumbent duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide daily leadership of all Customer Support staff and place resources as needed to support Help Desk, Operations and Desktop functionality. Create and maintain all Customer Support project plans to deliver new or enhanced functionality to NYSTRS Staff. Produce complex documentation such as RFP's, RFI's, Statements of Work (SOW), Policies and Procedures for any given project or task. Create and manage a Customer Support budget that supports all of our software and hardware related initiatives. Lead Customer Support teams in the evaluation and selection of new technologies. Manage all staff related personnel actions be they team building, hiring or discipline actions. Actively participate in supervision and technical training classes and disaster recovery exercises, which may involve travel.

• In-depth detailed knowledge of the following hardware: Desktops, Laptops, MFP's, Digital Senders, Network and personal printers, Scanners, Wyse Thin Clients, Label makers and monitors.
• Detailed knowledge of the following software: Windows 7x64, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Office 2010 (including Outlook), Dell Kace Client Management software (Help Desk, Remote Control, Discovery and Inventory, Asset Management, Software Deployment, Application Virtualization, Security and Patching, OS Imaging and Recovery).
• Some knowledge of the following: PGP, Biscom SFTP, CoreFTP, Acronis, Snag-it, Adobe Reader and Pro, Dameware, AutoIt, PowerShell, PowerBroker, Policy Pak, Application Security, Checkpoint Security, Airwatch MDM, Citrix XenDesktop or Xenapp and/or VMware, Crestron Audio\Video equipment and Digital Signage.
