Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Must be able to type at the rate of at least 35 words per minute with at least 96% accuracy. Documentation must be provided that, within the last five years, you have been successful on a five-minute typing performance test. Documentation of the test results must be on official letterhead or an official notice of the results of a typing test administered by an acceptable source: Personnel offices of State agencies, county, city, town or village municipalities which administer the Type Test developed by the Department of Civil Service OR from a school, college, university or learning institution. Official test results from a high school, college or university keyboarding course*. Official test results from BOCES or EEOC program*.
Duties Description I. Use Microsoft Excel and Word, FoxPro databases, and EPA databases. Within specified time constraints, input data, update databases and spreadsheets, generate reports from databases, update tracking systems, and perform file merges.
2. Update EPA and DEC databases upon receipt of new, reissued, modified, transferred, or deleted permits.
3. Distribute new, reissued, modified, transferred, or deleted permits to staff for permit coding twice per month.
4. Direct temporary staff in data entry, filing, and mail handling
5. Communicate with public via letter, e-mail, and phone. Provide instructions to public on completion of Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMR) and signature authorization forms.
6. Distribute DMR correspondence and attachments to Bureau of Water Compliance staff.
7. Distribute Special Mail to Bureau’s and Director s Office.
8. Backup phone coverage for Bureau of Water Compliance.
