Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list for this title;

OR

Transfer Opportunity:
Candidates must have one year permanent service as a Licensed Psychologist and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible for transfer via Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. In order to be eligible for 70.1 transfer, candidates must have one year of permanent service in a title approved for transfer by the Department of Civil Service that is within two salary grades or one M grade of the grade 25 level. In addition, candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice psychology in New York State.

Licensed Psychologist is a continuous recruitment examination. Candidates who are not on the eligible list may apply for this position. Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) Sunmount DDSOO is currently seeking a Licensed Psychologist. The incumbent will be responsible for providing psychological services to developmentally disabled individuals.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Licensed Psychologist, the responsibilities of the incumbent may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide psychological services and behavioral program development in secure care treatment settings and forensic evaluations to individuals;
• Develop, implement and monitor behavioral plans for consumers with maladaptive behavior;
• Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team and attend meetings for case review and residential habilitation; participate in special incident review meetings;
• Develop and present consumer cases to various review committees (BMRC, ICC) for their approval;
• Attend monthly meetings and perform special assignments, as directed. These include risk assessments, competency evaluations and credibility assessments;
• Perform psychological assessments such as intelligence testing and measures of adaptive behavior;
• Participate in eligibility committee via interviews of applicants for OPWDD services, and through paper review;
• Conduct court-ordered psychological evaluations, serve as expert witness and make recommendations to the court on competency, provide risk assessments (commitment, placement, and crisis intervention), guardianship and custody;
• Conducts neuropsychological, disability, and other specialized psychological evaluations including functional, personality, risk, clinical, competency, and vocational assessments;
• Select, administer, score and interpret psychological evaluation instruments in order to provide comprehensive assessments.
• Supervise psychological services performed by non-licensed staff and trainees;
• Develop and conduct courses, seminars and workshops for all levels of direct care
