Minimum Qualifications You must have permanent/professional or provisional/initial/conditional initial New York State certification in appropriate specialty.
Requirements For Appointment At Each Level:
For Teacher 2: New York State provisional/initial/conditional initial certification in the appropriate specialty;
For Teacher 3: New York State permanent/professional certification in the appropriate specialty;
For Teacher 4: New York State permanent/professional certification in the appropriate specialty and two years of post-certification (conditional initial/provisional/initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty.

Duties Description Supervising the sensorially disabled program's resource room area. Maintain all security standards. You will be asked to develop and present class activities such as musical instruction and read stories to the group for discussion. Provide individual help to inmates regarding use of equipment and individualized tutorial sessions with inmates, for example helping them to learn reading or basic living skills. You will also provide inmates with news about the wider world of social topics concerning disabled people, for example by reading news summaries. Keep records regarding attendance and usage of equipment by inmates.

Additional Comments This is a temp hourly position. Salary is based on experience.
