One year permanent competitive service as an Associate Architect, Associate Building Construction Engineer, Associate Building Electrical Engineer, Associate Building Structural Engineer, Associate Heating & Ventilating Engineer, Associate Mechanical Construction Engineer, Building Construction Program Manager 3, Facilities Planner 3.
52.6 Transfer:
One year of permanent competitive service in a position at the SG-27 level or above designated administrative pursuant to Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description The incumbent will act as the Regional Supervisor providing oversight of the construction work within the Capital Region (Region 4.) These functions include administrative duties as required to support subordinate regional staff and Division office needs, supervision of field staff, act as a liaison between field staff and the Division Office, investigate and attempt resolution on special problems as required, and assure effective communication between staff, contractors and clients. The incumbent also assesses staffing needs, makes staffing assignments and develops staff expertise. The incumbent will also enforce policies and procedures, which involves the managing, planning, scheduling and monitoring of new and/or rehabilitation construction projects. In addition, the incumbent will also be responsible for resolving problems and disputes with contractors, meeting regularly with clients to assure needs are being met and problems resolved, as well as ensure emergency contracts are responded to immediately.
