Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications We are seeking attorneys with a minimum of four (4) years of New York State prosecutorial experience, including significant investigative experience, such as writing search warrants and cell site orders. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and managing complex, document-intensive cases. The candidate must also possess excellent writing skills and have substantial grand jury and trial experience. An insurance background is a plus.
Attorneys must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that OAG attorneys be citizens of the United States.
Duties Description The Office of the New York State Attorney General is seeking an experienced attorney for the Auto Insurance Fraud Unit (AIFU), located in Manhattan. AIFU is a unit within the Criminal Enforcement and Financial Crimes Bureau and has statewide jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute auto insurance fraud and related crimes, including investigations into corrupt doctors, lawyers, healthcare providers, auto body shops, insurance brokers and participants in staged accidents. AIFU includes attorneys, investigators, auditors and analysts who conduct in-depth, long-term criminal investigations and prosecute cases from charging through conviction.
