Minimum Qualifications Eligible for a lateral transfer or eligible for a 70.1 transfer by having one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in an appropriate title. Appropriate titles include but are not limited to:
Office Assistant 1, SG-6
Office Assistant 1 (Calculations), SG-6
Office Assistant 1 (Spanish Language), SG-6
Office Assistant 1 (Customer Service), SG-6
Office Assistant 1 (Customer Service Spanish Language), SG-6
Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding), SG-6
Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding Spanish Language), SG-6

ELIGIBLE LIST: Candidates must be reachable on the current eligible list for the Office Assistant 1 (Stores/Mail) in Albany. Candidates who are currently on the eligible list for the Office Assistant 1 (Stores/Mail) in Albany need not submit an application for this posting unless they are applying directly as a result of the transfer qualifications listed above.
Duties Description Duties of the position will include but not be limited to:
• Operate inserting machines and postage machines for processing mail;
• Utilize different types of machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks;
• Sort and distribute incoming mail;
• Operate a motor vehicle to pick up and deliver inter-office and intra-office mail;
• Unload or assist others in unloading supplies and equipment from trucks;
• Conduct periodic physical inventory by counting the amount, type of goods and supplies on hand;
• Move bulk office supplies, equipment, furniture, forms, publications and other printed materials;
• Answer phones.
Additional Comments Appointment will be contingent upon Division of Budget approval to fill. A full-time, permanent appointment will be made. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.
