Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the current NYS Civil Service eligible list or a current New York State employee eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 or Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Examples of titles approved for a Section 52.6 transfer are Administrative Assistant, Senior Budgeting Analyst, Human Resources Specialist 1 and Information Technology Specialist 2.

Titles approved for a Section 70.1 transfer are: Head Occupational Therapist, Head Physical Therapist, Head Recreation Therapist, Health Facility Management Assistant, Intermediate Care Facility Program Manager 1, Intermediate Care Facility Program Manager 2, Mental Health Program Specialist 1, Mental Hygiene Program Evaluation Specialist 2, Nurse Administrator 1, Nurse Administrator 1 (Psychiatric), Resources and Reimbursement Program Development Specialist 1, Security Hospital Supervising Treatment Assistant, Speech Language Pathology Audiology Program Coordinator 1 and Utilization Review Coordinator.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of the Coordinated Assessment System (CAS)
• Demonstrated Excel Skills including but not limited to creation of tables, conditional formatting, sorting, filtering, use of appropriate formulas to analyze data, building advanced charts and pivot tables
• Strong computer and technology skills
• Ability to work independently, in a team environment, and cooperatively with co-workers
• Strong writing, verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, including prioritizing work plans and work assignments and meeting deadlines

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Coordinated Assessment System (CAS) is a new assessment tool that will have a significant impact on both individual health and safety expectations and resource balancing. The CAS will be used to identify a person requesting or receiving services strengths and needs in a consistent and comprehensive manner. Therefore, OPWDD has a need for the CAS Program Operation Specialist position in order to monitor data received from the CAS, develop and implement quality assurance measures, assist in developing and monitoring data related metrics, and evaluate the systemic impact of instituting a new assessment tool.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent of this position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following activities:
• Develop processes for evaluating assessment data on a daily, monthly and yearly basis
• Assist in the development of quality monitoring strategies based on data analysis
• Assist in the collection and dissemination of requirements to be used to build and modify current and new IT systems that support the Coordinated Assessment System (CAS)
• Assist in the development of policies specific to CAS
• Develop and meet timelines on assigned projects
• Identify and utilize resources needed to meet deliverables
• Lead project meetings
Note: Ability to travel up to 10 % required. This position also may periodically require an ability to work flexible hours
