Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in environmental education programs; or one year of college study with specialization in natural science, natural resources, or environmental education.
Familiarity with archery equipment is desirable. Must be able to safely operate state vehicles ranging from sedans to pick-up trucks by him/herself or with passengers, for up to 3 hours. Overnight travel will occasionally be required.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
Duties Description Assist the State Program Coordinator with the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) and Explore Bowhunting (EB). This Program is a cooperative effort between conservation agencies, school systems and private organizations to engage more students in the educational process and to improve participation in outdoor-type activities among young people. The position will promote the program among school officials and teachers, sportsman groups, community organizations and individuals interested in supporting the NASP. It will include the training of school system staff, coordination of purchasing prescribed equipment, and administration of program funds for the purchase of such equipment. Additional assistance is required with the Shooting Range Small Grants Program and community events as needed. Travel and some overnight is required.
Additional Comments Seasonal, hourly appointment ending no later than 11/30/2016. Program needs will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to 11/30/2016. Depending on performance and program needs, position may be extended to 3/31/2017, with the possibility to continue further, depending on performance and program needs.
