Minimum Qualifications •In title Office Assistant 3 (Human Resources), or
•Eligible for 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable by the department of Civil Service (must also be within 2 salary grades of Grade 14).
Duties Description PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in a Human Resources Office is preferred. Such experience can include exposure to recruitment, list canvass, NYSTEP and employee status changes. Please clearly explain this experience when you apply for this position.
DUTIES (include but are not limited to):
The incumbent of this position will be responsible for several functions within the Human Resources Office. The HR Office at Capital District is a busy, fast-paced, and high-volume environment, where the ability to work independently and effectively is critical.
•Office Manager: The Office Assistant 3 (Human Resources) will act as the Office Manager and support the Human Resources Director, and the professional staff. Will handle purchase requests, performance evaluation and probationary tracking, employment verifications, candidate reference checks, assist with waiver tracking and submittal of Requests to Fill, manage the exit process, and process new employee paperwork. These functions require the ability to prioritize workloads so that deadlines are met. The ability to quickly learn and apply various rules, processes and procedures is critical.
•Health Benefits Administrator: The Office Assistant 3 (HR) will serve as the Health Benefits Administrator.
•Professional Licensure Tracking: The Office Assistant 3 (HR) will be responsible for ensuring that we have copies of current licenses on file for the clinical staff, such as Nurses, Psychologists and medical professionals.
•New Employee Orientation: The Office Assistant 3 (HR) will present New Employee Orientation.
•Additional duties as assigned.
Additional Comments All OPWDD employees must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Continued employment will depend on maintaining eligibility.
Permanent appointment will be dependent upon receiving clearance by the NYS Central Register for Child Abuse and Maltreatment.
