Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Permanent Qualifications:
Must be reachable on the current eligible list for Associate Internal Auditor.
OR
Transfer Qualifications:
Candidate must be eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 and 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
To be eligible to:
• Transfer under Section 52.6, candidates must have at least one year of permanent, competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to a grade 21 or higher.
• Transfer under Section 70.1, candidates must have one year or more of permanent or contingent/permanent service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent of this position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following activities:
• Participating in preliminary studies to assess risks.
• Contributing to the development of audit plans and programs.
• Contributing to agency internal control efforts through participation in internal control assessments and workshops.
• Designing and developing work-papers and analysis to meet audit objectives.
• Conducting analysis using computer-assisted audit techniques.
• Developing audit findings.
• Keeping supervisor informed of progress, audit findings, and results.
• Summarizing audit findings and preparing presentations for the audit team and the auditee.
• Writing preliminary audit reports.
• Maintaining professional relationships with all managers and staff of entities being audited, as well as other staff who are providing information required by audit.
• Adhering to all professional ethical standards required for internal auditors.
• Conducting follow-up audits to determine whether recommendations have been implemented timely.
NOTE: 50 percent statewide overnight travel may be required.
