Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

Duties Description As Office Assistant 2 (Stores/Mail), you would be primarily responsible for the supervision and oversight of the DOT Warehouse located on Avis Dr. Latham, NY. Duties include, but not limited to:

• The supervision of clerk personnel;
• Delegating assignments to meet customer demands and deadlines;
• Operating motor equipment involved in warehouse daily routine including a forklift;
• Responsible for shipping/receiving of various Department commodities such as paper, IT equipment and more;
• Filling supply requisitions;
• Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing freight;
• Maintaining an accurate inventory of warehouse contents;
• Managing forms/supplies ordering system;
• Delivering supplies to Main Office and Region 1 personnel;
• Maintaining surplus furniture inventory; and additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
