Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title, or one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a Criminal Justice Program Representative 3 or Criminal Justice Program Representative 4 title and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law, or a reachable score on the Civil Service eligible list for this title.
Duties Description The Community Correction Representative 3 (CCR3) serves as the manager of the OPCA Training Unit. The CCR3 will provide direct support and technical assistance to all OPCA trainers as well as ensuring the proper execution of OPCA training for Probation Officers, Alternatives to Incarceration program staff, County Re-Entry Task Force staff and other criminal justice professionals. Duties include, but are not limited to: schedule, coordinate and conduct Fundamentals of Probation Practice, which includes Peace Officer Training (FPP), a two-week class of approximately 25 participants held twice a year; Officer Safety and Survival Training, a two-day class of approximately 25 participants held twice a year; and coordinate local delivery of this program. The incumbent will also facilitate training in special programs such as Thinking for a Change, Motivational Interviewing, Domestic Violence, Executive Leadership, Firearms, and Fundamentals Orientation for Supervisors; provide quality assurance for the delivery of local Fundamentals of Probation Practice trainings, curriculum material, site visits, and training Anchor Trainers; write, update and review curricula for all training programs identified above; review staff development plans as part of annual plan process, identify local training needs and compliance rates for training certificates and coordinate quarterly Training Committee meetings; provide technical assistance, training information and training data to localities; maintain rosters for training programs as well as obtain feedback from training participants; provide oversight of training grants; and supervise staff.
