Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that attorneys in the Office be citizens of the United States. A two (2) year commitment upon being hired is a condition of employment.
Duties Description The New York State Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking experienced attorneys with a minimum of five (5) years of prosecutorial experience for the Criminal Enforcement and Financial Crimes Bureau (CEFC), located in Manhattan. CEFC investigates and prosecutes criminal acts related to securities fraud, tax fraud, and other white collar crimes. The Bureau includes attorneys, investigators, auditors and analysts who conduct complex, long-term criminal investigations and prosecute cases from charging through conviction.
We are seeking attorneys with significant investigative experience such as writing search warrants and cell site orders. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and managing complex, document-intensive investigations. The candidate must also possess excellent writing skills and have substantial grand jury and trial experience. A background in finance and securities is not necessary, but is a plus.
