Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title or one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-16 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law. Candidates on the eligible list will be considered and need not apply to this posting.
For 55b/c: A bachelor’s degree in correctional studies, crime analysis, criminal justice, criminology, economics, forensics, government,law, law enforcement, law and society, political science, public administration, public affairs, public justice, psychology, or sociology, AND two years of the qualifying experience described below; Or 2. a master’s degree in correctional studies, crime analysis, criminal justice, criminology, economics, forensics, government,law, law enforcement, law and society, political science, public administration, public affairs, public justice, psychology, or sociology, AND one year of the qualifying experience described below.
Qualifying Experience: experience analyzing data, trends, policies, and programs that involve criminal justice and/or juvenile justice
populations in a formal professional setting. Paid, post bachelor’s degree internships may constitute qualifying experience. Internship
time will be prorated to reflect the time worked against a full-time standard.
Duties Description The incumbent will provide support for the fidelity and evaluation system used to assess community corrections programs funded by DCJS. Responsibilities will include researching and documenting best practices, summarizing program models, and developing expertise in evidence-based practices for a wide range of criminal justice programs and strategies. The incumbent will assist with the development of fidelity assessment instruments, and will maintain the fidelity project database and tracking systems. The incumbent will also be trained to conduct fidelity assessments in the future.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; familiarity with evidence based practices for community corrections programs; and experience using Microsoft Access to store and manage data is preferred.
