Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive service as a Senior Attorney; or one year of permanent competitive service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law with current New York State Bar Admission.

Duties Description The Senior Attorney will provide legal support to the Division of Licensing Services in the Department of State. The incumbent will conduct disciplinary hearings involving licensees and applicants for licenses for the occupations of real estate brokers and salespersons, apartment information vendors and sharing agents, appraisers and appraiser assistants, private investigators, watch guard patrol agencies, bail enforcement agents, security guards, notaries public, security and fire alarm installers, barbers, cosmetologists, estheticians, nail specialists and nail specialty trainees, natural hair stylists, waxing practitioners, home inspectors, armored car carriers, armored car guards and ticket resellers. The Senior Attorney will also assist with other litigation, legislative and regulatory matters on behalf of the Department.

This position may include some overnight travel.
