Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree and six years of professional administrative and/or clinical experience in evaluating, planning, coordinating, or directing a residential or community program for court adjudicated youth. At least two years of this experience should be at a supervisory level. A Master’s degree in a human services field may substitute for one year of the general experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in quality assurance and improvement duties, such as reviewing, developing, revising, and implementing procedures to ensure compliance with applicable accreditation organizations (i.e. State Commission on Corrections, American Correctional Association, Performance-based Standards etc.), and monitoring and evaluation of various aspects of a residential youth facility or community youth program to ensure that standards of quality are being met.
Duties Description Directly supervise and oversee the activities of five (5) regionally-based Project Assistants in the establishment and implementation of the DJJOY Quality Assurance process. Consult with facility directors/managers and program service directors on policy issues including regulatory requirements and evidence-based practices and implementing self-assessment and quality improvement processes. Oversee the review, development, revision and/or implementation of procedures to ensure facilities maintain American Correctional Association (ACA) accreditation, comply with State Commission on Corrections (SCOC) regulations and adhere to Performance-based Standards (PbS). Advise and confer with the Project Director and make recommendations regarding quality improvement processes and levels of compliance. Oversee the establishment of criteria, resources and methods to ensure policies, practices and protocols promote the data collection and corrective action plans that are consistent with Department of Justice (DOJ) mandates and requirements and are aligned with the OCFS Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, DJJOY. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.
