Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Currently serving as a Medical Specialist 2 and eligible for transfer
OR
Possess a valid license to practice medicine in New York State. If licensed in another state or by written examination in Canada, you may be considered for appointment if you have a current limited permit to practice medicine in New York State.
Must have a degree as a Medical Doctor, Doctor of Osteopathy, or Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery, a license to practice medicine in New York State, and certification by the appropriate American certifying board of the specialty and eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Duties Description Clinical supervision of the state operated Physician’s and Nurse Practitioner’s
Review and develop health care policies, and make recommendations to improve current practices
Act as liaison with local hospitals and other health care facilities, including local Medical Examiner’s Offices
Oversee hospital and non-hospital DNR process
Analyze current systems and ensure compliance with health care laws and agency policy
Act as member of the executive cabinet
Provide support to regional and state office staff.
Additional duties as assigned by the Director of the State Operations Office and/or the Director of the Regional Office (or their designee).
