Minimum Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant Title IX experience prior to beginning the position, and a minimum of 2 years as a Title IX Coordinator/Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
Experience reviewing and implementing legal, regulatory and statutory guidance to support an organization.
Experience working in an educational environment in Title IX coordination, investigation and adjudication
A minimum of three years of relevant post-graduate experience working in higher education
Demonstrated ability to function positively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in delivering engaging presentations to large audiences virtually and in-person.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication skills including the ability to present complex legal information in an accessible way to non-legal participants.
Preferred Qualifications:
J.D., L.L.M. or related degree.
Experience applying state law and Regulatory Guidance within campus policies.
Experience working within a large, complex organization.
Experience developing courses or programs, training, or resources.
Experience with or comfort with online or digital training platforms.
Experience in management of staff.
Duties Description Job Description:
The State University of New York is searching for an Assistant Director of Title IX Practice, within the SUNY Student Conduct Institute. The Assistant Director will leverage their experience in Title IX practice and assist in development and management of the Institute which provides legally compliant and best practice training to college personnel involved in all aspects of the investigation and adjudication of violations of law and policy, including but not limited to acts of violence and harassment. Education and training will be a combination of Live@Distance and on-demand delivery. The Assistant Director will train on conducting investigations and adjudications of violations of law and college policy in ways that are legally compliant, trauma-informed, equitable, and reflect current understanding of due process. The Assistant Director will assist in the development of policies and procedures that are accurate under the law but also reflect best practices and/or are based on proven or promising research.
SUNY seeks a dedicated, creative professional, equally interested in big picture and key detail, and one who thrives in a team-based environment. The successful candidate will have relevant experience and a continuing commitment to further their knowledge base. Responsibilities will include assisting in developing training and resources for the Institute, focusing on federal and New York State laws and regulatory guidance, developing, creating, and delivering innovative synchronous and asynchronous training, assisting in expanding and developing new obligations and opportunities of the SCI and assisting on related projects and programs that advance the general mission of the SCI. The Assistant Director will collaborate with the SUNY Student Conduct Institute team to jointly manage the SUNY SCI training schedule and to coordinate content development with national experts.
The position will require occasional regional and national travel to present at conferences.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the SUNY SCI team and the Office of General Counsel (OGC) to expand upon the content and program developed to date and develop a timeline to monitor success of programs on an ongoing basis.
Assist in collaboratively developing content that meets legal requirements (Clery Act/VAWA, Title IX Guidance, and New York State law) and best practices Live@Distance training to be provided to SCI participants.
Assist in developing online modules for distribution of refresher and advanced content to SCI members
Assist in aspects of Live@Distance and on-demand content delivery.
Assist in development of best practice, model documents, and other resources in general and for SCI members.
Participate in and collaboratively write proposals as necessary to seek new or additional program funding.
Assist in development of educational and marketing material for the SCI to reach additional and diverse audiences who could benefit from participation and grow the Institute.
Additional Comments Additional Information:
Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $80,000-$95,000.
