Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible lists.

OR

Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title designated as appropriate for transfer in accordance with Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Transfer eligible titles include but may not be limited to: Office Assistant 2, Office Assistant 2 Calculations, Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding.

OR

Individuals certified eligible for the 55b/c program under the Governor’s Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55b/c of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. To be considered, you must meet the minimum qualifications and provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.

Candidates must have a High school diploma or GED AND one year of full-time general office experience*.

*Qualifying experience: For the purposes of this examination, general office experience includes tasks such as preparing correspondence, reports, statements and other material; operating office equipment; answering telephones; verifying, recording and processing forms and documents such as contracts and requisitions; and performing general clerical duties according to established procedures.

Duties Description Under the direct supervision and guidance of the WC Examiner, duties of this position include, but are not limited to: process work assigned in CIS work queue accurately and in a timely manner; greet and provide general information to constituents; assist with WCB website online forms and applications; assist parties who require language access services when necessary; provide Spanish interpretation when needed to assist parties; assist with voter registration; assist WCLJs and constituents with hearing process. When in-person hearings resume, assist with public use of computers to access eCase; receive and process documents and evidence for administration of claims. Some travel may be required to provide coverage in service centers.
